What is a membraine, 'butterfly wing' action back draught shutter?
The membraine shutter fits to the back of the fan and opens when the fan is in operation. When not is use, the shutter stops air being transfered back into the room.

What does a run-on timer do?
When the fan (via a switch) is turned off, it will continue to operate for a preset period of time.

What is an in-line fan?
An in-line fan has ducting connected at either end and is normally mounted in a loft or void space. The duct then connects to an internal and external grilles.

What is a 'mixed-flow' fan?
A mixed flow fan is mounted in-line and will handle medium length duct runs.

What is a 'centrifugal' fan?
A centrifugal fan is mounted in-line and will handle long length duct runs.

What is an 'axial flow' fan?
A centrifugal fan is wall, ceiling or mounted in-line and will handle short length duct runs.
