Most fan noise is created by the fan motor its self. The silent fan motor is mounted on "silent-elastic-blocks" to prevent vibration and noise transmission. Normally, in extractor fans, the vibrations are transmitted to the surrounding areas, while in silent extractor fans the vibrations are absorbed by the silent block, thus insuring virtually silent operation.
