How to mount your Buddy Filter :

Generally, your Buddy Filter should be mounted directly to ducting or to an exhaust/extract fan. Your airflow should pass over the pre-filter, activated carbon and then through the centre of the filter and out through your fan.

Remember, if you reverse-mount your Buddy Filter you will lose the benefit of your pre-filter and reduce the life of the carbon.

Always mount your buddy filter as high as possible. Hot air naturally rises and so will your odours!

Try not to block too much of the filter with mounting straps or hanging devices. Use the ends of the filter to support, so not to inhibit the surface area of the filter.

Do Not mount your Buddy Filter near to humidifiers. Humid air over 85% may enter the filter rendering the activated carbon ineffective and your filter may NOT neutralise odours!

Ensure you have an airtight seal around the connection of your filter to ducting or extractor fan.

Do Not use your filter if it is damaged in anyway.

How to maintain your Buddy Filter :

Your Buddy Filter has an average 18 month usage period under normal conditions. Taking the time to follow a few simple steps will ensure the lifespan, and in some circumstances, prolong the life of your filter.

NEVER smoke near or around your Buddy Filter. Cigarette smoke can be the biggest factor in reducing the life of your filter.

ALL activated carbon is rendered ineffective in an environment with humidity levels over 85%. Keep humidity levels below 80% or the odour absorbing reaction will be unable to take place inside the carbon.

ALWAYS use the outer pre-filter supplied. Although the outer filter has no odour neutralising capabilities, its main use is to protect the activated carbon from residue, dust, dirt or spores clogging up the filter.

REPLACE the outer pre-filter when it becomes dirty. As a general rule, this should be replaced every three months. The filter is washable but please dry thoroughly to prevent the growth of harmful mould spores.

Things to consider when using your Buddy Filter :

If using air circulating fans, try not to blow air directly onto your filter. The faster airflow may inhibit the absorption rate of the activated carbon.

Please ensure your ventilation is switched off if water atomisers are used for air humidification.

Buddy Filters are NOT refillable.
